Erik Harris
Chi for healing integrates Chinese medicine with holistic healing practices to provide a multifaceted program to take back your health. Erik specializes in helping people suffering from chronic pain and illness to get to the root cause of disease and heal.
Erik has been deeply connected to nature his entire life. Since a young child he felt at home in the woods climbing trees and being a part of the natural world. It is only natural that when he suffered multiple injuries to his spine starting in his teenage years, dealt with various digestive issues, and contracted lyme’s disease that he was led to natural medicine.
As part of his healing journey he began connecting deeper to plant medicine with herbs and medicinal aromatherapy. It all started during his college years when he met a teacher who taught primitive skills from Native American traditions. This is when he learned how to forage for wild food, and so much more. This was a big awakening for him. This was the first true realization for him that we can actually use nature to heal ourselves.
After college while working Erik suffered another spine injury that western medicine could not help him with. He was then led to holistic healing as a solution after being introduced to a reiki master. This was life changing for him! From there he was introduced to a Chinese herbalist/aromatherapist and a crania-sacral/shamanic healer. All of the people he worked with made such an impact on his healing journey. His journey eventually led him to Dr. Wu.
Erik started receiving acupressure treatments and began a regimen of Chinese herbs and teas. He consistently attended tong ren healing classes and started learning tai chi and qi gong. He made changes to his diet and also added various supplements. He also used other holistic treatments included getting colonics and other detoxing tools.
He did everything he could to integrate the holistic medicine he was using into his daily life. His lifestyle was completely changed and over time he became healed of his injuries. From that profound personal experience it became clear to him that he wanted to learn how to be a healer and utilize all of the modalities that helped him to help others on their healing journey.
He was very fortunate to have a five year apprenticeship with Dr. Ming Wu and has received many certifications from him and in many of the holistic modalities that helped him personally to heal. He also graduated from the Connecticut Institute of Herbal Studies program in Chinese Herbology. It has become his mission and purpose in life to help people who are suffering with chronic illness and chronic pain to use holistic healing to heal themselves.
