Testimony after Five Years of Traditional Chinese Medicine Treatment for Myasthenia Gravis

My name is William Hsia and I have been a student and patient of Doctor Wu’s since 2020. In 2019, I was diagnosed with Myathenia Gravis, an autoimmune disorder. Before I learned about Dr Wu, I was looking for a remedy to my sickness that western medicine could not cure. I have also tried other Chinese doctors, but they too were confused on how to treat this illness. By sheer fate, I was able to find Dr Wu and he was able to teach me on how to push my illness into remission. I am currently in remission since 2021.

I want to emphasize that during my treatment, I have never met Doctor Wu. We only communicated via phone and text. He prescribed the proper herbs to aid in my treatment, but what is utmost important is that he passed on his knowledge of traditional Chinese medicine and lifestyle wellness to me. It is through that knowledge that I attribute to me being able to live a life of dignity.

There is a saying “ 师父领进门, 修行在个人”. This means that while the teacher will take you into the door, it is up to ourself, and not the teacher to practice, learn, and make a difference. When I have questions, my teacher has been always there to assist me. I follow proper traditional Chinese medicine practices not only for medicine, but it is integrated in my daily life style, and also my outlook on life. When I was seriously ill, I gave up all false pretenses and had full faith in what Doctor Wu taught me. I was earnest in my studies on Chinese medicine modalities and believed in what my teacher has taught me. It is through that will and trust that I am able to heal myself of my illness and other issues.

Dr Wu has many times mentioned to focus inwardly, and ask ourselves Who Am I? To understand what the “I” means in “Who Am I” is to first understand what “I Am Not”. I have learned to disassociate my mind and body with many of the superfluous illusions that I use to call “Mine”, and replaced it with a understanding of “I Am”. This life style change and reflection is what have helped me stay healthy, positive, and calm through the many turmoil caused by my health issues.

My learnings from Dr Wu never ends and will always continue as I face challenges in life and health. I am very grateful and thankful that my teacher has graced me with his knowledge, not only of medical treatments, but most importantly on how to take a stand and take charge of our health and life. While I am not cured of this disease, and western medicine blood works show that I am still sick, I do not let it bother me as I now know that I have done the best I can for my health. Whatever that happened, happens, or will happen is not for me to control or worry. I can only dwell in what I am, and do what is necessary to keep this body moving and well.

Dr Wu, thank you from the bottom of my heart in accepting me as your disciple. I will forever uphold the values of Feng Yang TCM and use my knowledge to also help other people live a healthy and meaningful life.

Your student,

William Hsia
